In the steel doors product scope, we could distinguish steel doors as 3 main branches. Residential, commercial and industrial. The difference of these 3 types of steel doors is mostly because of operating frequency and use intensity.
Residential steel doors possess lowest operating frequency and intensity since most residential doors are install at the position of emergency stairs, garage and etc. These doors are usually always closed and most hardware are light duty.
Commercial steel doors are usually mounted in malls, offices, schools and etc. As we can see, all these usage scenarios reflect the large number of daily usage. On the other hand, even though a large daily usage appears here, users are not meant to treat the doors so roughly that will break the doors.
Industrial steels doors are totally another story in comparison to mentioned 2 types of doors above. The doors will have the heaviest duty and the roughest usage during its life time. People may use the doors as it’s regular doors or may use it like a hard rock. A steel door can be operated with hands, usually, and some time with feet, carts or even vehicles. That’s why we call them heavy duty doors or even super heavy duty doors. Expect for thicker steel sheet material, industrial steel doors will also require heavy duty hardware in order to support its tough usage.
